What sets Talga apart from other lanolin creams is our focus on using oil and butter types that are non-comedogenic, meaning they don't clog pores. This makes our products suitable for most people and provides better results for the skin. Quality is our core value, and nothing is chosen at random.
Below you will find information about each ingredient and why we chose it specifically.
Grass-fed beef tallow - the base we use in all our products. We use tallow from grass-fed Scottish Highland cattle from a farm in Lofoten.
Sea butter - We use cold-pressed organic shea butter. It's a natural moisturizer that softens the skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe irritation. Shea butter improves skin elasticity and reduces fine lines.
Jojoba oil (cold-pressed organic) - Contains powerful antioxidants, omega 6 and 9 fatty acids, and vitamins A, D, and E. Suitable for all skin types, and especially beneficial for sensitive skin and oily combination skin as the oil will balance the skin's oil production. Therefore, it will mattify oily skin while moisturizing dry skin.
Mango Butter (organic) - Mango butter is suitable for all skin types and is extremely moisturizing without clogging pores or worsening acne. The butter is very well absorbed by the skin and leaves no greasy residue. The mild mango butter also makes it well-suited for skincare for children and those with sensitive skin. Excellent for psoriasis and eczema.
The high levels of vitamins and antioxidants in mango butter protect the skin from the environment and harmful UV radiation.
Mango butter is considered one of the best oils for treating liver spots ( solar lentigo ) – also called sun spots and age spots.
Olive-based squalane (organic) - Squalane has unique moisturizing and smoothing properties and is one of the best products against wrinkles and for aging and inflamed skin . Squalane is also one of the best natural anti-inflammatory oils and should be a staple ingredient in products aimed at reducing and counteracting:
- Inflammatory acne
- eczema and dermatitis,
- psoriasis and
- Rosacea.
In youth, the body produces a high amount of the nearly identical oil squalene, which is one of the factors that keeps the skin smooth and soft in young people. In the twenties, the body's production drops sharply, leading to drier and rougher skin.
Incidentally, the expression "soft as a baby's skin" is interesting in this context, since the protective membrane that covers the baby in the mother's womb, vernix caseosa , is extremely rich in squalene, where it acts as a super-hydrating, nourishing, and water-repellent agent.
Argan oil - The texture of argan oil is different from other oils, and despite this difference, it is one of the best moisturizing products for keeping the skin... hydrated. The high content of fatty acids, as well as vitamin E, stimulates the production of natural oils and regulates the skin's pH level.
Arrowroot powder (organic) - Arrowroot contains It contains vitamins and minerals such as B6, zinc, potassium and iron, and has a soothing effect on skin rashes, acne and minor wounds. Particularly suitable for sensitive and oily skin. In traditional medicine, arrowroot has been used to cleanse and heal wounds, promote healthy digestion and counteract irritated skin.
Tocopherol (natural and GMO-free Vitamin E) - Vitamin E is used to prevent rancidity in polyunsaturated fatty acids in oils and fats, and is used in soaps, skin oils and other skincare products. Vitamin E is therefore an antioxidant and should not be confused with preservatives. Vitamin E also helps protect the skin from strong sunlight and air pollution, as it is naturally anti-inflammatory and moisturizing. It has a regenerative effect on damaged skin, such as after sunburn, scars and burns.
