The story behind the axe.

When my youngest son was a baby, he developed some small, dry patches on his skin. Nothing dramatic, just some strange little eczema spots that came and went. But it bothered me. Not only because his skin was reacting, but because I didn't trust anything I found in the stores.

I read the ingredient lists and thought: Should I really put this on his soft baby skin? I wanted something that was guaranteed to be safe. Clean. Something I could actually understand – and trust. So I started making it myself.

It started with tallow – an old, almost forgotten ingredient that turned out to be the most skin-friendly and protective thing I could put on him. We had already used tallow in cooking, but the fact that it could be used in skincare was new to me. I read a lot about it, and found that it had an even better effect if mixed with different types of oils. Then I really started experimenting - I mixed it with different mild, nourishing oils until I found the formula that worked best for us.

And it worked. The spots disappeared. His skin became soft again. And I felt a tremendous sense of calm – because I knew what I was applying to him, and why it worked.

That's how Talga came to be. Not as a business idea. Not as a brand. But as a mother's heart that wouldn't settle for "good enough" when it came to her child's skin.

Now I make Talga for more than just my own family. But the intention is the same: to create genuine skincare that respects the body, nature, and common sense. Because simple is often best. And because love is in the details.

My love for Northern Norway and respect for local products are reflected in the fact that I use grass-fed tallow from Lofoten in our products.

I sincerely hope that your skin will love the products I have made.
